The Joint Venture formed by TOA CORPORATION (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President: Takeshi HAYAKAWA) and Santarli Construction Pte. Ltd. (Headquarters: Singapore) was awarded a contract by PSA Corporation Limited (Headquarters: Singapore) for the Construction of On-deck Depot, Transport Hub and the Auxiliary Facilities at Tuas Port in Singapore. (Price not disclosed)
TOA CORPORATION's Medium-term Management Plan (FY2023 - FY2025) established the goal of collaboration with local companies in overseas construction, the expansion of non-ODA projects and promoting various works, and this project will help us achieve this goal.
Container terminal operations at Tuas Port have begun in 2021 and there are plans to develop the port and construct related facilities for completion in the 2040s. With CO2 emission and sustainability becoming important issues, the use of low-carbon concrete proposed by the Joint Venture was adopted in this project as part of PSA's policy of developing a sustainable port with an eye to the future. This is expected to reduce CO2 emissions during the construction of Tuas Port.
TOA CORPORATION will steadily carry out construction work towards the completion of this project and contribute to the development of Tuas Port, which aims to become the world's largest fully automated container port (with an annual container handling capacity of 65 million TEUs) upon completion in the 2040s, and further advance our efforts to mitigate climate change and adapt to climate-related issues.
